Updates on IWF TO Uniform

Following the IWF Technical Committee and Executive Board decisions, the detailed guidelines on the new Technical Officials Uniform effective from 2015 has been published. From now on, Technical Officials can order their Uniform from either “TIKINTI” MMC in Azerbaijan or from the local manufacturer of their choice following the IWF TO Uniform Guidelines. IWF „Train the Trainers” Coaching Workshop

The IWF’s 2 days „Train the Trainers” Coaching Workshop started today in Bratislava, Slovakia. Dr. Tamas Ajan, IWF President opened the workshop in the presence of Maj. Gen. Yodbangtoey, IWF CRC Chairman, Mr. Frantisek Chmelar, Slovakian Olympic Committee President and Mr. Pavol Mutafov, Slovakian Weightlifting Federation President as well as Mr. Yassine Yousfi, Senior Manager, Coaches Section, IOC Olympic Solidarity. Resulting from the work of the IWF Coaching and Research Committee, this first step is part of the IWF Coaching Educations program that will incorporate the IWF coaching certification at three levels: Level 3 – Club Level Coach Level 2 – National Level Coach Level 1 – International Level Coach The IWF Coaching and Research Committee is in the process of implementing a plan to hold Level 3 courses in all Continents. The Workshop aims to train course presenters to ensure standardization. Based on the IWF Club Coach Manual, Mr. Lyn Jones and Mr. Kyle Pierce (CRC Members and authors of the IWF Club Coach Manual) are running the workshop to prepare the future lecturers of the IWF Level 3 Coaching courses. Weightlifting mournes the death of Dr. Mahmoud Hussien Shoukry

The International Weightlifting Federation and the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation mourns the death of Dr. Mahmoud Hussien Shoukry and his wife who tragically passed away in a car accident. Member of the IWF Scientific and Research Committee from 1988-2000, Member of the IWF Executive Board from 2005-2009, Dr. Mahmoud Hussien Shoukry was Member of the IWF Technical Committee since 2009. Born in 1947, he held function the President of the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation in past cycles and was awarded with the IWF Silver Order in 2010. Weightlifting Family lost an outstanding personality and a great expert. Our sympathy and condolences goes to his Family and to the Egyptian Weightlifting
