Hall of Fame Member Imre Földi celebrates 75th birthday

Renowned Olympic champion of Hungary, Imre FÖLDI was honoured in a ceremony organised by his city and club Tatabánya on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Multiple world champion and world record holder (in 56 and 60kg) Imre FÖLDI held the unique record of altogether 5 Olympic Games participations, whereby after 2 silver medals, at the age of 34 years in 1972 Munich he finally arrived at the pinnacle of his career, the Olympic gold. FÖLDI was inaugurated in the IWF Hall of Fame in 1993 and also became one of Hungary's exclusive society of only 10 Sportsmen of the Nation. Glasgow 2014 unveils ticketing ambitions for accessible and family-friendly Games

Two-thirds of tickets to experience the action and thrills of the Commonwealth Games will be priced at £25 or less, it was revealed today. Announcing a family-friendly ticketing strategy focused on delivering packed stadia and a ‘Games for Everyone’, the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee unveiled that access to sporting events at one of the world’s greatest multi-sports Games will start from just £15 for adults. Half-price concessions will also be available for children - a Commonwealth Games first - and the over-60s. The price of a ticket includes access to public transport in the local area on the day of your event. At a launch briefing in the city today attended by Olympic and Commonwealth athletes, Glasgow 2014 promised a simple and accessible ticketing process and pledged that at least 70% of all tickets to all sporting events would be available to the public. The Games Competition Schedule was revealed for the first time and it gets off to a flying start with 12 sports on Day One, including Swimming and Track Cycling. The first weekend will be very busy with both Rugby Sevens and Weightlifting expected to attract peak audiences. It was also announced that the ticketing process will launch on August 19, 2013 and ticket applications can be made online with debit or credit cards. First Gold Medals for Mexico and Kazakhstan

Women’s 75kg The Kazakh lifter SHVABAUER Anastasiya won the 3 Gold Medals in the Women’s 75kg bodyweight category lifting 10kg (224kg) more than the Silver Medallist lifter ARTHUR Jenny Lyvette from the United States of America (214kg). FILIATREAULT Johanie (CAN) was in the 5th position after the Snatch with 93kg, but won a Silver Medal in the Clean & Jerk and grabbed the third place in the Total with 212kg. Women’s +75kg Only 3kg decided the victory between BUENO Gladis (MEX) and ABDELAZIM Halima (EGY). In the end 3 Gold Medals were awarded to the Mexican athlete for her Total of 243kg, while ABDELAZIM won the 3 Silver Medals with 240kg. KLINGSEIS Marissa Eileen (USA) was one out of the 2 athletes in this bodweight category to perform 6 good lifts. With 104kg in the Snatch, 125kg in the Clean & Jerk and 229kg in the Total, she was awarded 3 Bronze Medals. Men’s 94kg Two Silver Medals, one in the Snatch and one in the Total, were enough for ROSCHUPKIN Konstantin (RUS) to stand on the highest place of the podium during the Victory Ceremony. Achieving 3kg more in each lifts, he won the Gold in the Total with 371kg. Gold Medallist in the Snatch, his compatriot KOSOV Alexei (RUS) achieved 4th place in the Clean & Jerk and was awarded the Silver Medal in the Total with 370kg. From successful Snatch to victory

Women’s 69kg The Chinese lifter WANG Xinyue took 10kg advantage in the Snatch, and even though she finished second in the Clean & Jerk, that advantage was enough for her to win the Gold Medal in the Total. ZHAPPARKUL Zhazira (KAZ) performed at her best to grab the victory from WANG but after missing her third attempt in the Clean & Jerk at 140kg, she was 5kg away from the Gold Medal. Third place and 3 Bronze Medals were awarded to HASSIN Ghada (TUN) who ended the competition with a Total of 222kg. Men’s 85kg OKULOV Artem (RUS) displayed an impressive strength on the stage, and became Junior World Champion in the Men’s 85kg bodyweight category. Lifting 15kg more than the Silver Medallist, OKULOVwas one of the 3 athletes ending the competition with 6 good lifts. The competition for the Silver Medal can be marked with pressure. Both the Belarusian and the Cuban athletes wanted the second place; however KHUHAYEU Aleh (BLR) seemed constantly progressing during the Competition. Women’s 63kg / Men’s 77kg at the 2013 IWF JWC

Women’s 63kg SHEN Yinyi (CHN) won the Women’s 63kg competition with 100kg achieved in the Snatch, 122kg in the Clean & Jerk and a Total of 222kg. Junior and Youth World Champion in 2012, MOLIE Madalina Bianca (ROU) won the Gold Medal in the Snatch with 103kg. After two missed attempts in the Clean & Jerk, she finally managed to lift 118kg and took the second place both in the Clean & Jerk and in the Total. CHIBISOVA Nadiia (UKR) only 6th place after the Snatch ended the competition with 18kg less than the Gold Medal winner from China. Men’s 77kg In the Men’s 77kg bodyweight category, the final battle opposed the Russian lifter UNANYAN Razmik to the Azerbaijani lifter RAHIMOV Nijat. Both athletes lifted 153kg in the Snatch, and the Clean & Jerk determined the final ranking. With a successful attempt of 192kg, UNANYAN Razmik (RUS) won the Gold Medal in the Total. Victories by Bodyweight

Women’s 58kg Youth World Champion in 2012, MAXIMOVA Ksenia (RUS) won the Women’s 58kg bodyweight category. REYES Yineisy (DOM), took 1kg advantage in the Snatch and was awarded the Gold, but couldn’t beat the Russian lifter in the Clean & Jerk. Both athletes finished with a Total of 205kg, and final decision came from the lighter bodyweight of MAXIMOVA. The Venezuelan lifter FIGUEROA Yusleidy was 4th place after the Snatch, but defeated the Armenian YAYLYAN Izabella and was awarded the Bronze. Men’s 69kg Bodyweight determined the order in the Snatch and in the Total. Losing the Silver Medal by bodyweight in the Snatch, the Chinese lifter HUANG Wenwen (CHN) couldn’t let victory pass by. Lifting a Total of 316kg – just as MOHAMMED KADHUM Karrar (IRQ) – his lighter bodyweight led him to the Gold Medal.
