MOSQUERA LOZANO Luis Javier won the Gold for Colombia

W53 Snatching 95kg, LIU Quan (CHN) took a 9kg advantage over NGUYEN (86kg) and KOHA (85kg). While the Vietnamese and the Latvian lifters were far below in the Clean and Jerk 6th and 5th respectively, the Chinese lifter LIU continued her strong start and made it to 115kg. PAK – M62kg World Champion

Competition was tight in the Snatch with 124kg being a great challenge for lifters. Missed by PAK Jong Ju (PRK) once and MOSQUERA LOZANO Jose David (COL) twice, ERGASHEV Adkhamjon (UZB) was the first to make it a good lift. PAK succeeded at his second attempt, and got first place because of lighter bodyweight. Very balanced performance from ERGASHEV Adkhamjon (UZB), as the Uzbek lifter won 3 Silver medals with 124-151-275kg. In the Clean and Jerk, things got interesting from 145kg even though PAK (PRK) came out only at 155kg. With a Second good lift at 156kg, he won the Gold also in the Total with 280kg . an advantage of 5kg over ERGASHEV. Great result for Turkey, as AYDIN Emrah (TUR) won the Bronze (265kg) even though he finished only 6th in the Clean and Jerk with 145kg as only good attempt. Snatch and Total Youth World Records broken by JIANG Huihua

New Youth World Record was set in the Snatch by the Chinese lifter JIANG Huihua first at 89kg and then raising it to 92. She broke her compatriot’s TIAN Yuan’s (CHN) record from the 2010 IWF World Championships Antalya, TUR at 88kg. Only 1kg behind her, HOU Zhihui (CHN) got the Silver Medal, and tried to challenge JIANG in the Clean and Jerk. Bronze Medallist RI Song Gum (PRK) had some serious difficulties in catching up with the two Chinese lifters being incredibly focused all along the competition. With her best Clean and Jerk at 104kg, she won two other Bronze Medals. In the Clean and Jerk, both Chinese lifters came out for their first attempts on 105kg – good lifts. Going for 110kg for their second attempts – wonderfully executed good lifts again. Third attempts were set to 113kg, bringing the Gold in the Clean and Jerk to HOU by bodyweight over JIANG. First competition day – First Gold for China

With a 126kg Snatch, KRUAITHONG Sinphet (THA) won the gold in the Snatch but only by bodyweight over the Chinese lifter MENG Cheng. Ending with the same 126kg, he missed 127 and 130 for his second and third attempts. Bronze Medal in the Snatch went to SCARANTINO Mirco (ITA) lifting 117kg, and he continued his powerful progress even in the Clean and Jerk. He secured his medal with 145kg, and attempted 148, but it seemed to be too heavy this time. With his Total of 262kg, Mirco got the place of the podium as well as the Bronze! KRUAITONG had only 1 successful lift in the Clean and Jerk at 142kg, still enough for the Silver in the Total. With his first lift in the Clean and Jerk (150kg), 2014 Nanjing YOG Champion and 2015 Junior World Champion was already the ultimate winner in the Men’s 56kg. IWF Congress in Wroclaw

The International Weightlifting Federation had its Congress yesterday in presence of delegates from 40 countries. After the welcome speech of IWF President Dr. Tamas Ajan, PZPC President Mr. Szymon Kolecki followed by PZPC Vice President Mariusz Jedra gave Technical and Program information regarding the 2015 IWF Junior World Championships Wroclaw, POL. Beside the reports of the 3 Committees, the Congress received a detailed report of the Executive Board Meeting meeting held in Lima on the occasion of the 2015 IWF Youth World Championships. A lot of attention was devoted to the IWF Development Program and an updated policy previously approved by the Executive Board for the contributions granted to the Continental Federations was presented to the Congress delegates. Congress delegates also received a detailed report of the Anti-Doping Commission on related matters. A yearly summary highlighting media presence and press activities for the year 2014 and 2015 period was presented to the Congress underlining the involvement of continents in the press publication. An updated report on LIFT THE WORLD – the IWF Documentary on the sport was presented with feedback from viewers. The documentary now reached a viewership of over 260.000 and is available with Russian sublitles while the Spanish and German versions are being finalized. The Congress approved the Financial Statement of 2014 presented by the IWF Financial Advisor and an update of the 2015 Budget as well as the Auditor’s Report for the year 2014 presented by KPMG. Updates were given regarding upcoming events such as: the 2015 IWF World Championships Houston, USA presented by Janis Schmees Burke, CEO Houston Sports Authority and Michael Massik, CEO USAWL, the 2015 IWF Grand Prix & Qualif.
