IWF Development Program in Ghana

A Weightlifting Educational Seminar was held in Ghana from 22 to 24 November. The complex course that ended today was organized in the framework of the IWF Development Program, and dealt with important anti-doping, coaching, nutrition and technical issues.   Organizing such courses regularly on the African continent has a great impact on the development of weightlifting and gives useful knowledge to the attendees on the basic requirements and technical rules of our sport.     Lectures were held by a renowned and experienced expert Mr. András Szabó, Professor at the Hungarian Corvinus University at the Media Centre of Accra Sports Stadium. Besides up-to-date information on nutrition and food-supplement, he presented studies on special warm up and training systems to complement training programs.   We would like to congratulate to the new Ghanaian President and leadership, and hope that to achieve further progress on the Continent, as well as in world competitions, they will pursue their efforts on the path of development.    The IWF notices with great admiration the devoted work of Mr. Husseini Akueteh Addy, General Secretary of the Ghanaian Weightlifting Federation in order to elaborate a successful course.
