IWF President met COPAG representatives in Guadalajara

The President of the International Federation of Weightlifting, Dr. Tamas Ajan, concluded a visit to Guadalajara, where he met Mr. Ivar Sisniega, Sports and Operation Director of the Pan American Games Organizing Committee (COPAG), Mr. Valentin Yanes, Technical Sports Director of COPAG and Dr. Rosalio Alvarado President of the Mexican Weightlifting Federation. They had meaningful discussions about the preparations of the XVI Pan American Games to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico on 23-27 October 2011. During the meeting, adjustments were made in regard of the facility and the competition schedule. The IWF President underlined the importance for the Mexican Weightlifting Federation to work hand in hand with the Pan American Games Organizing Committee in order to progress efficiently in preparations and deliver a successful weightlifting

New competition platform by Eleiko

ELEIKO has proposed the new competition platform to be used at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Pan-American Weightlifting Federation Congress

IWF President Dr. Tamas Ajan attended the Pan-American Weightlifting Federation (PAWF) Congress in Mexico City on 18 February 2011. IWF President participated in the annual meeting of this fast developing continent besides representatives from 21 countries. The event was the highlight of the weightlifting sport on the Pan-American continent.
