11th South Asian Games to start in Jan. 2010

The 11th South Asian Games (SAG) is to be held from Jan. 29 to Feb. 8 in 2010 in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The meeting organized in Kathmandou (Nepal) also decided to include eight more sports in the 11th edition of SAG: badminton, basketball, cricket, judo, volleyball, wrestling, golf and cycling. Olympic silver medal weightlifter honoured

Olympian weightlifter Hoang Anh Tuan has been presented with the Labour Order, Second Class, for his contributions to sport after winning silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the men's 56kg category.Tuan was presented with the State award at a ceremony in Hanoi on March 29 to honour the best sportspeople and disabled athletes of the year. Tuan's 290kg lift won Vietnam's only medal at the Games and he was then selected Vietnam's 2008 athlete of the year. The 24-year-old weightlifter also received a cash-prize of VND100 million at the ceremony, awarded by the Dong Luc Group for his silver medal.
