    Congress News (first day)

    During the first day of Congress, the IWF membership grew to 187 with the ratification of three new members: Gambia, Laos and Mauritania.

    Annual Reports were heard and approved and the new Constitution, Technical and Competition Rules were widely debated and approved for 2009-2012.

    Hosts of the future major Championships and Games gave their preparation reports to the Congress delegates.
