Last Competition day at the 2013 IWF YWC

Women’s 69kg DAJOMES BARRERA Neisi Patricia who will be 15 years old in May won 3 Gold Medals for Ecuador. With 6 good lifts, she ended the competition with a Total of 206kg. In the Snatch, only the Chinese KONG Dongying could follow lifting 90kg. KONG did 111kg in the Clean & Jerk and was close to the Silver Medal. However, ending the competition with 201kg in the Total – same as HULPAN Florina-Sorina (ROU), she only took the third place due to heavier bodyweight. Men’s 94kg RASHIDI DOLISKANI Milad (IRI) took the lead in the Snatch with 160kg, which is 4kg more than the Russian SOLOVEV Nikita’s lift. The Clean & Jerk brought the victory for the Russian SOLOVEV Nikita who won by bodyweight lifting 179kg - exactly the same as RASHIDI DOLISKANI. After willing to jump directly from 179 to 190, none of them could take the good lift being too heavy for both. The 4kg advantage from the Snatch was enough for RASHIDI DOLISKANI to win the competition in the Total. All three Bronze Medals went to the other Iranian lifter FAZLI KOSALARI Amir Hossein for his Total of 328kg. Women’s +69kg Youth World Champion in 2011 and in 2012, NOGAY Nadezhda (KAZ) defended her title and became once again World Champion in 2013. Even the impressive strength of the Ukrainian DEKHA Iryna and her Gold Medal in the Snatch won by bodyweight couldn’t take the victory away from her. Third place was awarded to WANG Xijing (CHN) who lifted 212kg; 29kg less than the Gold Medallist NOGAY. Men’s +94kg The Men’s +94kg was the competition of MARTIROSYAN Simon (ARM) and SOLEYMANI Alireza (IRI). The two athletes had only 1kg difference after the Snatch, the Armenian lifter dominated the Snatch with 8kg more than any other competitor in this category. Women’s 63kg The 3 Gold Medals went to SAMIR ELSAYED Sara (EGY) who lifted an impressive 21kg more than the Silver Medallist CEN Yanfeng (CHN). CEN, only 8th place after the Snatch stood up on the second place of the podium with a Total of 200kg. Bronze Medal winner CANTU Jennifer (MEX) celebrated her birthday on the platform and was awarded the Bronze Medal for her Total of 199kg. Men’s 77kg The Russian KHUGAEV Khetag was unstoppable. Taking the lead in the Snatch with 8kg, he continued increasing his advantage in the Clean & Jerk. He stood on the highest stage of the podium with a Total of 312kg. Third place went to the Indian lifter RAGALA Venkat Rahul who did only 1kg less (296kg) than the Silver Medallist Kazakh lifter AMIRBEKOV Ayat who ended with 297kg. Men’s 85kg The competition was very balanced in the Snatch between DEHGHANGHAHFAROKHI Alireza (IRI) and CHENG Yixiong (CHN). The Iranian lifter winning the Gold with only 1kg more than CHEN (146kg, 147kg) defeated him in the Total with 319kg for DEHGHANGHAHFAROKHI against 312kg for the Chinese lifter. Women’s 58kg After three good lifts in the Snatch, INTAMAT Kamonchanok (THA) won her first Gold with 86kg. The Egyptian lifter EL SAYED RASHED Esraa lifted the same weight; however she only ended second because of heavier bodyweight. WEI Chengyu (CHN) was only third after the Snatch with 1kg less, but caught the leaders in the Clean & Jerk. Gold Medal in the Total was again awarded to the Chinese lifter being lighter than her Thai opponent. Both INTAMAT and WEI lifted 194kg. Bronze Medal went to the 15 year old DURAN Ana from Mexico. China and People’s Republic of Korea share medals out

Women’s 48kg All competitors already finished their competition in the Snatch when the two Chinese lifters YU Linglong and QIU Liling came out for their first attempts. Very disciplined and showing an impressive technique, YU Linglong – only 13 years old – won 3 Gold Medals and ended with a Total of 173kg while QIU Liling with 171kg. Bronze Medal went to SUKCHAROEN Thunya from Thailand with 162kg. Men’s 56kg The Thai lifter SRIPHAT Teerasak was the only athletes in the Men’s 56kg to perform 6 good lifts. Only 5th after the Snatch, he won the Bronze in the Clean & Jerk and ended the competition with a Total of 235kg. NGUYEN Tran Anh Tuan (VIE), Silver Medallist in the Snatch couldn’t make it to the podium in the Total. Third and fourth place in the Snatch went to lifters from group B. The Colombian SANCHEZ Nicolas won Bronze while 4th place went to Kazakh lifter KHASSAROV Timur. The ranking determined by the Clean & Jerk stayed for the Total. MAYORA PERNIA Julio Ruben (VEN) won the Silver Medal with a Total of 231kg while VIZITIU Daniel Florin (ROU) won the Bronze. Women’s 53kg Women’s 53kg bodyweight category displayed an impressive and struggling fight between LIN Binglian (CHN) and RIM Un Sim (PRK). No one could take the lead on the podium. LIN won with a Total of 187kg lifting 1kg more in the Snatch and 1kg more in the Total than the lifter from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Bronze Medallist in the Snatch, the Venezuelan lifter ZABALA ZABALA Yorlis Yaidelyn lifted 10kg less than the Gold winner LIN. Bronze Medallist in the Clean & Jerk and in the Total, GOMEZ Janeth (MEX) was only 8th after the Snatch, but could come back to the podium and ended with a Total of 167kg. Men’s 62kg The competition was highly competitive in the Snatch, while both KWON Yong Gwang (PRK) and EMAD GOUDA Ahmed (EGY) lifted 116kg. World Weightlifting’s 2012 Best Lifters received their Trophies

The Kazakh athlete, Zulfiya Chinshanlo and the Iranian athlete Behdad Salimikordasiabi were voted to be the Best Lifters of 2012 by the readership of World Weightlifting and the weightlifting public all over the world. Zulfiya received the “Jenő Boskovics Lifter of the Year Challenge Trophy” for the Best Lifter of 2012 at the IWF Congress held in Uzbekistan Tashkent in the presence of 64 countries. In the absence of Salimi, the President of the Iranian Weightlifting Federation, Hossein Rezazadeh took over the plaque for this great recognition. The presenters were Dr Tamas Ajan, IWF President, and Kornél Jancsó, Editor-in-Chief. The 2013 IWF Youth Weightlifting Championships kicked off

The 2013 IWF Youth Weightlifting Championships kicked off today in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The President of the Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mirabror Usmanov, the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Batir ZAKIROV and the Minister of Culture and sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Minkhajidin Mirzajanovich KHODJIMATOV honored the Opening Ceremony with their presence. Record number of athletes and record number of countries 257 Men from 46 countries and 189 Women from 38 countries (altogether 446 athletes from 52 countries) are competing in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This competition is the first competition in central Asia and all athletes are willing to secure the participation of their country at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Nanjing, China. Only 1 Youth World Record holder (Snatch, Clean & Jerk and in the Total) is present at the competition, Nadezhda Nogay (KAZ) ¬who will compete in the Women’s +69kg bodyweight category. On the first competition day, athletes competed for medals in 2 bodyweight categories: Men’s 50kg and Women’s 44kg. Men’s 50kg Asian weightlifters took possession of the podium in this bodyweight category. China on the lead was followed by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Uzbekistan. First medal of the competition for the host country, the venue was crowded to watch YULDASHEV Mashkhurbek (UZB) winning 3 Bronze with a Total of 196kg. The Chinese lifter finished 4th in the Clean & Jerk, but had a 6kg advantage in the Snatch which was enough for him to win the Gold Medal in the Snatch and in the Total. With 197kg, PAK Jong Ju (PRK) ended up second. Women’s 44kg After a Silver Medal in the Men’s 50kg, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea won the Gold in the Women’s 44kg.
