USA Weightlifting – Donation of the Jack Hughes Trust

The IWF was informed that the "Jack Hughes Trust", the estate of former Chair of the USA Weightlifting Technical Committee - who passed away in February, 2017 - has made a donation of 5000 USD to the IWF and a 5000 USD donation to the USA Weightlifting. USA Weightlifting will be using these funds to pay, scholarship people to IWF Category 1 and IWF Category 2 certification. Source: USA

The President of Swedish Weightlifting Federation passed away

It is our deep regret to inform the Weightlifting Family that Mr. Thomas Wesselhoff, the newly elected President of the Swedish Weightlifting Federation passed away on May 23rd. Thomas Wesselhoff started his presidential period with great enthusiasm and energy. He was eager to learn everything about weightlifting and people in our sport. A few days ago he participated in the Electoral Congress of Swedish Sport Federation. ASOIF IF Good Governance study

The ASOIF proceeded to a first review of IF governance that was presented at their General Assembly. The review included all 28 Summer Olympic IFs and the 5 main criteria were transparency, integrity, democracy, development & solidarity and control mechanism.
