Commonwealth Championships Women 64kg Podium @IWF/Steve Galvan Men 81kg Category After China cancelled their participation due to the ongoing pandemic the field was left open for the competing athletes.  One of the biggest prospect of the field was the still Youth athlete, Karlos May Hasan Nasar (BUL). From his starting weight of 163kg we could already predict that he will try to beat his own Youth World Record. Furthermore the Junior World Record was also in close proximity. Already on his second attempt the new Youth World Record was secured with 166kg. During his last attempt he also tried to beat the Junior and Youth Record with a 169kg attempt but finally it was a no lift. However this was not enough to win the Gold medal. Robu Marin (MDA) who was placed 8th at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games this summer in M73kg, proved to be the strongest among the athletes with a 168kg Snatch which he lifted on his last attempt and therefore won Gold. Bronze went to Mir Mostafa Javadi Aliabadi (IRI) with 163kg. In Clean&Jerk it was all about Nasar. Just like in Snatch his starting C&J put him is close proxomity to not only the Youth and Junior World Record but to the Senior one as well, which was hold by Lyu Xiaojun (CHN).  Already on his second attempt he broke the Youth Total World record (371kg) with a 205kg C&J. And then came his last attempt. He increased to 208kg which was considered as a new World Record attempt in Senior/Junior/Youth C&J and furthermore with a good lift he would also secure the Junior and Youth Total World Record. The pressure was big but Nasar provided the most impressive performance of the night when he lifted 208kg and not only won Gold in C&J but with just one lift he broke 5 World Records. Silver went to Mir Mostafa Javadi Aliabadi (IRI) with a successful third attempt of 204kg and Woo Jae Kim (KOR) won Bronze with a 196kg C&J.
