We are happy to announce that starting from today, the IWF Mobile App for Android smartphones is available! The Application includes a Sinclair Point calculator and a Loading feature. Last competitions and closing in Lima

Men’s 105kg 3 Gold Medals were awarded to the Russian lifter BOCHKOV Rodion ending the competition with a Total of 374kg. His compatriot, DZAGOEV Soslan (RUS) ended up second with a difference of 3kg between the two lifters (371kg). 5th place after the Snatch with only 1 good attempt, SAMORAJ Jaroslaw (POL) came up to the Third place of the Podium with an impressive 201kg in the Clean and Jerk, his Total was 363kg. Men’s +105kg 3 Gold Medals were awarded to TALAKHADZE Lasha (GEO) (190kg, 221kg, 411kg) and 3 Silver Medals to MINASYAN Gor (ARM) (183kg, 220kg, 403kg) in the Men’s +105kg Bodyweight category. Third place went to the Russian MARTIROSIAN Karen who lifted 385kg in the Total which is 18kg less than the Silver Medallist. At the Closing Ceremony of the Championships Mr. Jose Quinones, President of the Peruvian Weightlifting Federation, President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee and also President of the Organizing Committee thanked all participants for having contributed in the success of these IWF 2013 Junior World Championships Lima, Peru. Mr. Ismael Manuico, Manager of the Lima City Governor and Mr. Akio Tamachiro, National Sport Director of Peru also participated in the event. On behalf of the IWF and its President Dr. Tamas Ajan, Mr. Sam Coffa, IWF Vice President gave a closing speech giving high appreciation to the Organizing Committee and especially to the President Mr. Quinones for the wonderful job accomplished. The Best Female and Best Male athlete of the competition received the IWF/Eleiko Press Commission Trophy. The Trophy of Best Female athlete of the competition went to WANG Xinyue (CHN) while the Best Male athlete of the competition was HRISTOV Valentin Snezhev (AZE). Trophies were awarded to the best Male and Female athletes of the competition according to Athlete’s Choice. A Poll was conducted during the Closing Ceremony, and all delegates and athletes present had the opportunity to vote for their favorites. According to Athlete’s Choice, the Trophy of Best Female athlete of the competition is awarded to MAXIMOVA Ksenia (RUS), and the Best Male athlete was HRISTOV Valentin Snezhev (AZE). Hall of Fame Member Imre Földi celebrates 75th birthday

Renowned Olympic champion of Hungary, Imre FÖLDI was honoured in a ceremony organised by his city and club Tatabánya on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Multiple world champion and world record holder (in 56 and 60kg) Imre FÖLDI held the unique record of altogether 5 Olympic Games participations, whereby after 2 silver medals, at the age of 34 years in 1972 Munich he finally arrived at the pinnacle of his career, the Olympic gold. FÖLDI was inaugurated in the IWF Hall of Fame in 1993 and also became one of Hungary's exclusive society of only 10 Sportsmen of the Nation. Glasgow 2014 unveils ticketing ambitions for accessible and family-friendly Games

Two-thirds of tickets to experience the action and thrills of the Commonwealth Games will be priced at £25 or less, it was revealed today. Announcing a family-friendly ticketing strategy focused on delivering packed stadia and a ‘Games for Everyone’, the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee unveiled that access to sporting events at one of the world’s greatest multi-sports Games will start from just £15 for adults. Half-price concessions will also be available for children - a Commonwealth Games first - and the over-60s. The price of a ticket includes access to public transport in the local area on the day of your event. At a launch briefing in the city today attended by Olympic and Commonwealth athletes, Glasgow 2014 promised a simple and accessible ticketing process and pledged that at least 70% of all tickets to all sporting events would be available to the public. The Games Competition Schedule was revealed for the first time and it gets off to a flying start with 12 sports on Day One, including Swimming and Track Cycling. The first weekend will be very busy with both Rugby Sevens and Weightlifting expected to attract peak audiences. It was also announced that the ticketing process will launch on August 19, 2013 and ticket applications can be made online with debit or credit cards. A postal application service will also be available.
