Juniors open World challenge in China

The 2006 Junior World Championships were launched today in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, China. 103 female and 118 male competitors up to the age of 20 years representing 44 countries are expected to perform in the next 7 days on the platform of the magnificent Sports Center in an event that is generally considered as a ?test? for the Olympic Games. World records fell at the European Championships

At the 85th Men's and 19th Women's European Championships held to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Polish Weightlifting Federation, the Continent's lifters took a very powerful start this year. The women's fields were clearly dominated by the Russian lifters who won the team classification by an enormous margin. Among the men, Belarus came out as the surprise winner, preceding Russia by 27 points.
