26th Summer Universiade, weightifting included, to open in ten months in Shenzhen, China

The 26th Summer Universiade - with weightlifting on its program for the first time - will open in less than 10 months in Shenzhen, China. FISU Technical Chair for Weightlifting, Mrs. Anikó Németh-Móra is currently on the 2nd inspection visit in the Chinese metropolis of 14 Million inhabitants, one of the fastest-growing cities of the world, in order to oversee the preparations. "Though the weightlifting venue, a brand new facility, just like the adjacent Training Halls (both buildings to serve the Shenzhen Sports School later on) are quite far from being completed, knowing the construction potential of Chinese people and Shenzhen's commitment to the success of the Games, I am pretty confident that they will be ready for March 2011, as promised." says Mrs. Németh-Móra. "During the visit, alongside other sports Chairs on the FISU Games program, we have conducted very useful and conclusive discussions with the Shenzhen Organising Committee. We expect a minimum of 30 countries and about 300 competitors to take part in the Universiade and will do everything together with the hosts to make weightlifting a great success at the Games. Our sport's events will start, as usual, on the day following the Opening Ceremony, i.e. on 13th August 2011, and last through six competition days. I hope that the member National Federations of the IWF and the National University Sports Federations will join forces and send as many weightlifters as possible to Shenzhen in their Universiade

You may win round-the-world air ticket by submitting Bio info!

To encourage athletes to complete the Biography Questionnaire towards the Asian Games in Guangzhou, Infostrada Sports is continuing a policy of giving the chance for the athletes to get something back by organizing a "Biography Draw". Every athlete who enters his/her details into the Infostrada Sports System goes into a draw with the chance to win a round-the-world air ticket! It is not the first time that the Infostrada Sports gives such opportunity! They did it for the Vancouver Winter Games and most recently for the Delhi Commonwealth Games where a weightlifter of the Seychelles, Terence Dixie won the round-the-world air ticket! It also gives a great occasion to the athletes competing in Guangzhou to promote themselves and the sport of weightlifting in the media. We invite every athlete who wants to seize this opportunity to submit their information by the following link:
