Superheavyweight rocked Tbilisi

W+75kg Georgian crowd was very enthusiastic especially when HOTFRID Anastasiia (GEO) lifted 116kg and got a 1kg advantage in the Snatch. She was closely followed by Youth Olympic Champion in 2014 CHAIDEE Duangaksorn (THA). After a missed attempt in the Snatch at 111kg, she made it to 115kg. Third place winner AYOVI CABEZAS Lisseth Betzaida (ECU) ended with 108kg, but had lower numbers than the leading lifters in the Clean and Jerk. She ended 4th with a Total of 235kg. Clean and Jerk was an easy win for CHAIDEE. Going for 141kg-146kg-150kg, she dominated the Women’s +75kg. Silver medal went to the local favorite HOTFRID Anastasiia (GEO) who was the only athlete trying to catch up with her. With a Total of 236kg – being 29kg less than CHAIDEE – BROWN Mercy Opeyemi (GBR) stood up on the third place of the podium. With two 4th places, she managed M+105kg MARTIROSYAN Simon (ARM) was unstoppable and became the last Junior World Champion to be crowned in Tbilisi. The 19 year old athlete dominated the field and ended with a Total of 412kg being 25kg ahead of Silver Medallist GABER Ahmed Mohamed Abdelhamed Mohamed (EGY) and Bronze Medal winner KAJDOCI Tamas (SRB). The last competition was the most competitive between all and gave a wonderful ending to the 2016 IWF Junior World Championships Tbilisi, GEO. Snatching 177kg, CHINEN Kosuke (JPN) got a Silver medal. His 200kg result in the Clean and Jerk brought him 9th and he ended the Total in 5th place. With 221kg in the Clean and Jerk, GABER managed to get a Silver Medal and even made it to the second place in the Total. W75kg In an intense competition, the European Champion DEKHA Iryna (UKR) defeated the Asian Champion MUNKHJANTSAN Ankhtsetseg (MGL). 8 Women competed in the W75kg A group, but it became clear very quickly that the fight for the medals will took place between 3 of them: DEKHA, MUNKHJANTSAN and LIANG. In the Snatch, the Ukrainian lifter took only a 1kg advantage over the Mongolian lifter (116kg against 115kg) while LIANG Xiaomei (CHN) only reached 109kg. The Chinese lifter won all three Bronze Medals for her Clean and Jerk of 136kg and Total of 245kg. DEKHA chose the strategy to follow the lifts of MUNKHJANTSAN and came out on the same weight to secure herself the victory. She let the lighter Mongolian lifter win the Gold in the Clean and Jerk with 138kg, but anyway she got the Junior World Champion title with a Total of 254kg. M105kg The crowd and fans in Georgia were looking forward to the Men’s 105kg category. Georgian National team member CHKHEIDZE Giorgi was the absolute favorite today and he proved it during the competition. Winning the Snatch with a 1kg advantage, CHKHEIDZE ended third in the Clean and Jerk (207kg) behind SOLOVEV Nikita (RUS) making it 210kg and DEHGHANGHAHFAROKHI Alireza (IRI) defeating him by bodyweight. Silver medallist in the Snatch RUIZ I VELASCO Marcos (ESP) couldn’t make it to the podium and ended 4th. DEHGHANGHAHFAROKHI Alireza (IRI) third place in the Snatch missed his Clean and Jerk attempt twice at 213kg – just like CHKHEIDZE – and missed the Gold Medal only by 1kg ending with a Total of 378kg. In the end CHKHEIDZE Giorgi (GEO) was crowned Junior World Champion in the Men’s 105kg with a Total of 379kg. „It’s an unforgetable feeling! I am happy and proud! W69kg Predicted as winner, DAJOMES BARRERA Neisi Patricia (ECU) 2013 Youth World Champion and Pan-American Junior and Youth World Champion won with ease. She won all three Gold Medals with 105kg – 125kg – 230kg. She came out last in the Snatch to take her lifts and got a 7kg advantage that she kept all along the Clean and Jerk and even raised to 11kg. PALACIOS DAJOMES Angie Paola (ECU) got Silver in Snatch defeating SHEVKOPLIAS Alona (UKR) by bodyweight. However in the Clean and Jerk and Total PALACIOS DAJOMES only got 5th and 4th place while the Ukrainian lifter SHEVKOPLIAS took all three Bronze medals lifting a Total of 218kg. Silver in the Clean and Jerk and Total went to CANTU IGLESIAS Jennifer Michell (MEX) who was only 4th in the Snatch. M94kg Gold medallist in the Snatch with 172kg, PAREDES MONTANO Lesman (COL) started lower in the Snatch than his opponents. He couldn’t keep his leading position while ending 4th in the Clean and Jerk, but got the Silver in the Total with 372kg. Starting too high in the Snatch attempting once 170kg and 171kg twice, HOZA Volodymyr (UKR) got no good lifts and couldn’t secure a Total. Powerful in the Clean and Jerk he stood on the first place with 204kg. Two Silver meant one Gold for SOBIROV Farkhodbek (UZB). W63kg The only lifter to go above 100kg in the Snatch was RIM Un Sim (PRK). She went for 100kg, 103kg and a third successful attempt at 105kg. The Asian Junior Champion in 2014 and Bronze medallist twice at the IWF Junior World Championships in 2014 and 2015 started the both the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk after all the other competitors took their lifts. Snatch silver went to ELLIOTT Kiana Rose (AUS), Oceanian Champion in 2016 lifting 95kg here in Tbilisi. She was followed closely by DURAN AYON Ana Lilia (MEX) Youth World Champion in 2012. That 1kg advantage taken by ELLIOTT was not enough to grab a medal in the Clean and Jerk but with a Total of 204kg she won the Bronze Medal. DURAN AYON Ana Lilia (MEX) ended second with 216kg. RIM Un Sim (PRK) missing her first Clean and Jerk attempt at 130kg she managed to lift it for her second attempt. She went up to 135kg – 2kg under the Junior World Record and got the gold. M85kg No surprise in the Snatch as the gold medal went to LIU Jiawen (CHN) lifting 165kg and securing himself an advantage of 6kg. The surprise however came with the Bronze medal as the B group lifter RIVAS MOSQUERA Jhonatan (COL) made it to the podium with 159kg. PIZZOLATO Antonio (ITA) did great and made 3 good lifts and end Silver. Fighting in the Clean and Jerk, after a missed attempt at 193kg, he raised the bar to 195kg and 201kg. Lifting both weights he won the Gold in the Clean and Jerk and Silver in the Total with 360kg. Chinese lifter LIU had three good lifts and ended with 200kg; a Total of 365kg and the first place of the podium! Only 8th place in the Snatch, ELBAKH Fares Ibrahim E.H. LOPEZ LOPEZ Yeison – Record holder in the Snatch, Clean and Jerk and Total

W58kg 2015 Youth World Champion DAENGSRI Nawaporn (THA) started the Snatch with a Gold. Lifting 97kg and winning by bodyweight over OU Lingli (CHN), she couldn’t keep the lead in the Clean and Jerk. Celebrating her Birthday today on the competition platform, the 18 year old lifter ending with 211kg was awarded the Silver in the Total. OU however proved to be undefeatable in the Clean and Jerk where she only came out for her first lift right after all the other competitors took their attempts. With 120kg and a Total of 217kg she was awarded the Gold. With 95kg Snatch - 112kg in the Clean and Jerk - 207kg in the Total, NABIEVA Muattar (UZB) was the third lifter to end above 200kg. Having a stable third place she won three Bronze for Uzbekistan. M77kg Second athlete to set new Youth World Records at the 2016 IWF Junior World Championships Tbilisi, GEO is the Colombian lifter LOPEZ LOPEZ Yeison (COL)! The Junior and Youth Pan-American Champion as well as 2015 Youth World Champion set a new Youth World Record in the Snatch with 156kg, one in the Clean and Jerk with 190kg and two in the Total – first setting it at 341kg and then raising it to an impressive 346kg. LOPEZ LOPEZ was unstoppable! No other athlete could even get close to his results. IARKIN Viacheslav (RUS) Silver Medallist at the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games with 294kg made it also Silver here in Tbilisi with 333kg. RODALLEGAS CARVAJAL Brayan Santiago (COL) Pan-American Youth Champion twice made it to the podium with a Bronze in the Snatch – a 5th place in the Clean and Jerk and a Total of 331kg. W53kg Two Silver worth Gold Even though she was awarded two silver medals – in the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk – the Chinese lifter YU Linglong won the Gold in the Total with 206kg. Youth World Champion in 2013, she Snatched 91kg – 1kg less than KOHA Rebeka (LAT), bronze medallist at the 2016 European World Championships. All three bronze medals went to KAEWKHONG Supattra (THA), winning by bodyweight over KOHA ending with the same Total of 195kg. In the Clean and Jerk, PAKKARATHA Rattanaphon (THA), Youth Olympic Champion in 2014, attempted 122kg to grab the gold, but failed to lift it. She ended 5kg behind the 15 year old YU Linglong (CHN). M69kg The thing to be remembered about the Men’s 69kg are the 3 new Youth World Records set by CUMMUNGS JR Clarence (USA)! Celebrating his birthday on 6 June 2016, the 16 years old CUMMINGS has reasons to celebrate. Ranked 4th in the Snatch with 137kg, he set the new Youth World Record in the Clean and Jerk twice. First at 175kg and second time at 180kg. The 3rd new Youth World Record was set in the Total – 317kg! This impressive result allowed him to stand on the top of the podium to get his well-deserved Gold Medal. Second and third place was awarded to Japan. KONNAI Mitsunori (JPN) MIYAMOTO Masanori (JPN) both ended with 305kg and lighter bodyweight determined the color of the medal between the two. KONNAI got Silver while MIYAMOTO got bronze. OKYAY Ahmet Turan (TUR) ending also on 305kg was the heavier than the two Japanese, and MOSQUERA LOZANO Jose David with 302kg finished 5th. YU Linglong (CHN) - You had fantastic debut. To whom would you dedicate your victory? I am very happy. When I won the Youth World Championships in Tashkent with a Total of 172kg and today I ended with 206kg. I am glad about this progress and I dedicate my victory to my coach, family and country of course. -Today you won in a much pressured competition. How would you rate your opponent? My opponent from Thailand is very strong. Today I defeated her because I was more concentrated. Otherwise it would have been a more difficult task. - How does it feel to become Junior World Champion? I can’t compare this feeling to anything else. It’s like a dream.   CUMMUNGS JR Clarence (USA) - How does it feel to lift 180kg? I am excited and happy. I could both win and break the record, this is a fantastic feeling. - You ever thought about breaking the world record before coming to Tbilisi? Yes I did, because I have lifted this weight already and I am happy I could repeat it once again. - How did you prepare for this competition, how was your preparation like? I didn’t train specially for this tournament. I usually worked out following the long term program with my coach and it appeared enough for achieving this result. - You are only 16 years old and broke the Youth World Record. What about your plans. I am planning to compete on Olympic Games and represent my country with success. I also hope I will be able to break more world records in future. - What do you think, how will your team mates welcome you home? I think they will meet me as a hero, who deserved his win. -I believe Tbilisi will be an unforgettable city for you. Do you enjoy the competitions and tell us what do you think about the country?
