Thai National Sports Day and Award Ceremony
Thai Amateur Weightlifting Assocation (TAWA) has been honored in receiving numerous outstanding awards presented by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Sports & Tourism and Permanent Secretary of Sports & Tourism Ministry on December 16th, 2016 at Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). The following outstanding personalities awarded are members of our weightlifting family: Outstanding Sport Association of the year Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association Outstanding Sport Executive of the year Mrs. Boossaba YODBANGTOEY First Runner-up Male Athlete of the year Mr. Sinphet KRUAITHONG Outstanding Female Athlete of the year Ms. Sukanya SRISURAT First Runner-up Female Athlete of the year Ms. Sopita TANASAN First Runner-up Youth Female Athlete of the year Ms. Tanya SUKCHAROEN Outstanding Coach of the year Lieutenant Commander Aree WIRATTHAWORN Outstanding Foreign Coach of the year Mr. Gholamhossein Ghorban Zadeh Boreijani December 16th is the national sports day in Thailand. Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) being the main official entity to take lead of campaign activities significantly raised Thai people’s awareness on the importance of sport practice. The Award Ceremony is organized every year on this day. The national sports day is held to commemorate the outstanding day of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama 9) who won gold medal in sailing in 1967. Source:
