Want to watch the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games? Here’s how!

The second edition of the Summer Youth Olympic Games will take place from 16 to 28 August in Nanjing, China. You don’t have to be in Nanjing to catch all the action, however, as live and on-demand footage of the 3,800 young athletes participating in the Games can be viewed in a variety of ways. The official Olympic broadcast partners in over 160 countries and territories around the world will provide the most comprehensive Youth Olympic Games coverage ever. Training in Nanjing already started

Yesterday was the opening of the weightlifting training venue of the 2nd Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, and teams already present have their first trainings in the Nanjing International Expo Center - the home of weightlifting for the YOG. The event will kick off with the highly anticipated Opening Ceremony on 16 August, where the President of the P.R. of China, Mr. Xi Jinping will be joined by the Secretary General of the UN, Mr. Ban Ki-moon. Weightlifting competitions will be held in 5 women (48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg, +63kg) and 6 men (56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 85kg, +85kg) categories between 17 and 23

THACH Kim Tuan received the IWF Media Trophy of Best Lifter from Dr. Tamas Ajan

THACH Kim Tuan was awarded the IWF Media Trophy of Best Lifter among Men at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Kazan, Russia. He set the one and only World Record at the 2014 IWF Junior World Championships in the Men’s 56kg bodyweight category breaking the Junior World Records in Snatch as well as in Total. As the Vietnamese Team left Kazan prior to the Closing Ceremony of the event, the IWF Media Trophy could not be handed over to THACH Kim Tuan (VIE) on the spot. The IWF used the opportunity of his stay in a training camp in Hungary to organise an award ceremony on 7 August with the participation of his coach and Mr. Pham Ngoc Chu, Member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and the Hungarian Weightlifting Federation, the IWF Secretariat members and media representatives. The IWF President Dr. Tamas Ajan presented the IWF Media Trophy of Best Lifter to THACH Kim Tuan (VIE) accompanied by Kornel Jancso, Editor in Chief and Aniko Nemeth-Mora Senior Editor of World Weightlifting Magazine. When receiving the Trophy from IWF President, THACH Kim Tuan (VIE) couldn’t hide his emotions and pride.
