THACH Kim Tuan received the IWF Media Trophy of Best Lifter from Dr. Tamas Ajan

THACH Kim Tuan was awarded the IWF Media Trophy of Best Lifter among Men at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Kazan, Russia.

He set the one and only World Record at the 2014 IWF Junior World Championships in the Men’s 56kg bodyweight category breaking the Junior World Records in Snatch as well as in Total.

As the Vietnamese Team left Kazan prior to the Closing Ceremony of the event, the IWF Media Trophy could not be handed over to THACH Kim Tuan (VIE) on the spot. The IWF used the opportunity of his stay in a training camp in Hungary to organise an award ceremony on 7 August with the participation of his coach and Mr. Pham Ngoc Chu, Member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and the Hungarian Weightlifting Federation, the IWF Secretariat members and media representatives.

The IWF President Dr. Tamas Ajan presented the IWF Media Trophy of Best Lifter to THACH Kim Tuan (VIE) accompanied by Kornel Jancso, Editor in Chief and Aniko Nemeth-Mora Senior Editor of World Weightlifting Magazine.

When receiving the Trophy from IWF President, THACH Kim Tuan (VIE) couldn’t hide his emotions and pride.

Currently, THACH Kim Tuan and TRAN Le Quoc Toan, DO THI THU Hoai are training in Hungary where they are getting prepared for the Incheon 2014 Asian Games.

Head of Weightlifting Department Do Dinh Khang said athletes Om Yun Chol (PRK) and Long Qingquan (CHN) are the two biggest rivals of Kim Tuan at the upcoming Asian Games in Korea.
