Last YOG Qualification Event started in New Caledonia

The 2014 Youth, Junior and Senior Oceania Championships started in Mont Dore, NCL, at the headquarter of the Oceania weightlifting. The event is also a YOG Qualification Event, being the last one before Nanjing YOG.

The event started with Educational activities including IWF Anti-Doping Seminar by Dr. Kami Lisimoni, TGA, IWF Medical Committee Member, OWF Technical Seminar by Garry Marshall, NZL OWF TC Chairman, and will continue with Athletes and Coaches Seminar later during the week.

The OWF Executive Board held its meeting with the participation of IWF President, Dr. Tamas Ajan and Director General, Attila Adamfi, where the Women Development Program was established.

189 athletes (74 women and 115 men) from 18 Member Federations are expected to participate and compete for the available YOG quotas.
