Senior Officials from WADA and IOC at the IWF Headquarters

Senior Officials of WADA and the International Olympic Committee paid visits to the IWF Secretariat in Budapest only two days apart, during the past week. On a tour in order to get to know the International Federations, Kelly FAIRWEATHER, Director of the European Regional Office and of the Relations with the International Federations for the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) received a brief update from the IWF Directors and Secretariat, with special regard to the Federation's anti-doping activities. As a former IOC Sports Director himself, and so very familiar with all the IFs' operations, Mr. Fairweather was greatly impressed by the amount and effectivity of the work done by the "handful staff" at the IWF Headquarters under the baton of President Dr. Tamás AJÁN. He was especially appreciative of the IWF's Anti-Doping program and control system. Just a few days later the IWF Office welcomed Mr. Christophe DUBI, Sports Director of the International Olympic Committee, for a blitz-visit and a short acquaintance with the Federation's activities. The focus of the discussions and the apropos of the visit was the co-ordination of issues between the IOC and the IWF of the 1st Youth Olympic Games 2010 Singapore.
