Inspection visit at Paris 2011 reveals advanced stage of preparations

Anikó Németh-Móra, IWF Director and Attila Ádámfi, IWF Competition Director made a technical inspection visit over the weekend in Paris, to co-ordinate the organisation of the 2011 Olympic Qualification World Championships. The visit and the discussions embraced the cheking of accommodation, competition venue, training, meals, technical organisation, regulation, transport, etc. - all important aspects of the Championships. Already now, 20 months prior to the event, an Organising Committee is in place and in full operation, under the care of FFHMFAC President Jean-Paul Bulgaridhes and professional experts appointed or employed in key positions. The IWF officials stated that the preparations were in an advanced stage and the French hosts are aspiring at staging the world championships to full satisfaction of the participants.

Indonesia Wants 26th Sea Games To Be Held On 11.11.11

The host of the 26th SEA Games, Indonesia, has lined up 37 sports for the biennial meet which is scheduled for November next year. Indonesia Olympic Committee (KOI) in its website, confirmed that of the 37 sports, 22 would be Olympic events and the other 15 non-Olympic events. "During our presentation at the Asian Games Federation meeting, we proposed that the SEA Games be held on Nov 11, 2011. I think it'll be nice if it's written as 11/11/11," KOI secretary-general Arie Ariotedjo was reported as saying in the website. Nevertheless, he said the final date for the meet would be finalised by the SEA Games Federation at its meeting in April. The 26th SEA Games in Indonesia would be held in four provinces namely Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang and Palembang. Palembang will be hosting football, wrestling, gymnastic, wushu, powerlifting, weightlifting, aquatic, wall climbing and track and field events, while Semarang would be the venue for archery, boxing, snooker/billiard, sepak takraw, shooting, roller skating and the other paralympic
