LI holds all three World Records

Two Chinese and a Russian formed trio rivalized in the heaviest women’s bodyweight category, the +87kg, for the first place and finally, LI Wenwen (CHN) came out victorious. The Snatch World Record holder performed one kilogram under her best, 147kg, but took away both the Clean and Jerk and Total records from Russian KASHIRINA Tatiana, who earned 3 Silver Medals this time. WANG Zhouyu (CHN) was Champion of the 76kg category last year, now jumped in the 87kg’s competition and won all the Gold Medals easily. Only KIM Un Ju (PRK) could keep up with her but was left 5kg behind in the Snatch by the Chinese who lifted 120kg. PEREZ REVERON Naryury Alexandra (VEN) earned the Bronze with 110kg. MARTIROSYAN defended his title

Defending champion Armenian MARTIROSYAN Simon won all three Gold Medals in the men's 109kg bodyweight category. He triumphed in the Clean and Jerk and Total effortlessly but had a hard fight for the Snatch first place. First in the Snatch, this year’s Asian Champion and 2018 World Championships Silver Medallist, Chinese YANG Zhe set a World Record with 197kg. Right after him, 2008 Olympic Champion ARAMNAU Andrei (BLR) broke the record with 198kg. MARTIROSYAN had the final word, who raised the bar to 199kg. In the Clean and Jerk, the Armenian secured the Gold Medal with his first lift (230kg), then came out for a World Record attempt at 241kg, but this proved too much for him, and the World Record remained 240kg, held by himself. Two Silvers added up to a Gold for TSIKHANSOU

Cutting ahead of the medal favorites, South-Korean JIN Yunseong won the Snatch with 397kg in the men’s 102kg category this Wednesday at the World Championships in Thailand but clinched the overall Gold from Belorus TSIKHANSOU Yauheni, European Champion this year in 96kg category. The multiple Olympic and World Champion VALENTIN PEREZ Lidia could not defend her title in the women’s 81kg at the World Championships in Pattaya, where she was defeated by Columbian SOLIS ARBOLEDA Leidy Yessenia, not only in the first lift but in Total as well. In the Snatch, they were both left behind by the rest of the field, VALENTIN was fifth with 108kg and SOLIS was ninth with 105kg. The Gold Medal of the Snatch went to the winner of the B group, LEE Jieun (KOR) for lifting 111kg, booking a good lift before her compatriot KIM Suhyeon, who performed the same as her and Mongolian MUNKHJANTSAN Ankhtsetseg. The North Korean RIM Jong Sim won the women's 76kg bodyweight category competition on Tuesday at the Senior World Championships in Pattaya, THA. The 2019 Asian Champion and Silver Medallist at last year’s WWC gained a significant advance in the Snatch over her biggest rival, 2018 World Champion of the W71 category, ZHANG Wangli, who got to 118kg, while the PRK athlete performed 124kg, breaking her own World Record.
