Coaching and Referee Seminar in Bosnia and Herzegovina
A two-day seminar for coaches and referees was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18th of October 2019, in the framework of the IWF Development Program.
The meeting started with the opening speech of Mr Nedim Masic, General Secretary of the B&H Weightlifting Federation, who then proceeded to talk about his topic: New view to new rules – update on IWF rule changes.
Dr Mensur Vrcic, who is a full-time professor at the Sarajevo University, former weightlifter and Executive Board member in the federation held a presentation about athlete recovery, followed by the presentation of Mr Mela Omerovic about female recreation.
Mr Maged Salama, IWF expert gave an extensive lecture on strength and flexibility in weightlifting.
The second day of the seminar mostly included practical lessons for the attendees. The Coaching Course was lead by Mr Maged Salama, while Mr Nedim Masic was responsible for tutoring the referees.
After the lessons, some referees took exams, while others have the possibility to check the theoretical tests in public, projected to big screen to allow the participants to learn from the tests too.
