Nine medals, six medallists

The nine medals were split between six lifters in the men’s 89kg bodyweight category today in Pattaya.

In the tight competition in the Snatch, Georgian DAVITADZE Revaz proved to be the best with 172kg cutting ahead of Belarus and Venezuelan rivals, who both lifted the same, 169kg: BERSANAU Aliaksandr and VALLENILLA SANCHEZ Keydomar Giovanni. The latter broke the Junior World record.

In the Clean and Jerk, three new names came up and the winner of the B group, Japanese YAMAMOTO Toshiki won the gold with 208kg, while the Silver Medal went to MKRTCHYAN Hakob (ARM) with the same result and MIRI Ali (IRI) took home the Bronze, performing 207kg.

MKRTCHYAN won the Total Gold with 375kg, lifting one kilogram more than MIRI and 4kg more than DAVITADZE.
