Second WADA Global Education Conference
After the first edition in 2015, in Canada, on 24-25 October 2018 the 2nd WADA Global Education Conference was held in Beijing, China hosted by CHINADA in partnership with USADA. Several NADOs, RADOs from the world, International Organizations and International Federations participated the Event. International Weightlifting Federation was represented by Dr. Lilla Sagi, Legal Counsel and Ms. Timea Horvath, Development and Education Manager.
The most important topics were: Anti-Doping Charter of Athletes Rights, International Standard for Education, WADA’s role in Education. CHINADA and USADA gave presentations about their education programs, tools, researches which could be a good model for other NADOs and IFs to follow. Both days ended with group work where the representatives of the different organizations could share knowledge, experiences and ideas.
IWF was happy to notice that WADA brought as a display outreach tool, the #iLiftCLEAN barbell which was designed for the 2017 IWF World Championships in Anaheim. Moreover IWF was pleased to have fruitful discussions regarding further cooperation with JADA, USADA and other participants to enhance forward the IWF’s Anti-Doping Education Program.
