Preparation for 2019 Pan American Games in Lima

Some Peruvian national weightlifters are training for the 2019 Pan American Games in an amazing environment, about one hundred meters to the shores of the emblematic River Aguaytía, in Ucayali, in Peru.

The Paredes sisters, Jhasmin, bronze medalist at 2016 IWF Youth World Championships, María, 6th at 2017 South American Youth Games and the youngest one Jheysi complemented by Angie Cardenas, Beatriz Limas and others are preparing here for next year’s big event.

Thanks to the triumphs the weightlifting club has improved a lot, as twenty-four years ago the trainings were executed with weights of galvanized iron and cement. Coach, Pedro Paredes is proud of the development and success and he always cultivates new talents, from which the majority is girl. Looking at the proportion of the genders in the team, it is not surprising. The women at this place are more persistent, stout and enterprising and this motivates them, specially for the upcoming Pan American Games in home ground.
