Chile’s first ever medal is GOLD

MENDEZ PEREZ Arley (CHI) gave Chile its first ever medal at the World Championships. In 2015, Chile’s best result was an 8th place in the Snatch in the Women’s 75kg, by VALDES PARIS Maria Fernanda (CHI).

He took a 1kg advantage over Olympic Champion ROSTAMI Kianoush (IRI) with 175kg. The Iranian lifter – having a knee injury – couldn’t secure a Total after missing his three attempts in the Clean and Jerk.

MENDEZ PEREZ had only 1 successful attempt in the Clean and Jerk. After securing his gold with 203kg, he gave 214kg a try before attempting to break the World Record. Both of his attempts failed but he still stood on the highest place of the podium three times.

ZWARYCZ Krzysztof Maciej (POL) won his second world championships medal. He took bronze in the Snatch in the 77kg bodyweight category in 2013.

The only Polish lifter to claim medals in the 85kg is ZIELINSKI Adrian (POL), who won one world title, two silver and two bronze medals in 2010 and 2011.

ZWARYCZ was 4th in the Snatch but with a Clean and Jerk of 197kg and a Total of 359kg he got two Silver Medals.

The first result ever registered result of of 345kg at an IWF sanctioned event brought IMADOUCEINE Romain Jordan Sebastian (FRA) a Bronze Medal in the Clean and Jerk (196kg).
