8 winners for 9 medals in the Men’s 62kg

Pan-American Champion in 2016, MOSQUERA VALENCIA Francisco Antonio (COL) claimed three silver medals in Houston two years ago. After a 7th place in the Snatch with 130kg, he gave Colombia its second world title in a men’s event after FIGUEROA Oscar (COL).

With an impressive Clean and Jerk at 170kg, he ended with a Total of 300kg – being 1kg more than Silver 2016 Asian Champion as well as 4th place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games ITOKAZU Yoichi (JPN).

MISHVELIDZE Shota (GEO) ended 4th in the Snatch and 5th in the Clean and Jerk. Impressive to note that these results brought him a third place in the Total only 1kg away from Silver Medallist ITOKAZU.

Youth World Champion in 2016 as well as Asian Youth and Junior Champion ERGASHEV Adkhamjon (UZB) got a Bronze in the Snatch but missed the podium in the Total.

Gold Medallist in the Snatch TRINH Van Vinh (VIE) started too high in the Clean and Jerk and couldn’t secure a Total.

9th place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games HAN Myeongmok (KOR) got a Silver in the Snatch ended 10th in the Clean and Jerk. The Silver and Bronze in the Clean and Jerk went to Mexico – MONTES GONGORA Jose Lino and VAZQUESZ MENDEZ Antonio got both a medal.
