29th SEA Games weightlifting competitions started

The 29th South East Asian (SEA) Games weightlifting competitions started today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

7 (INA, MAS, MYA, PHI, THA, TLS, VIE) out of the 11 SEA countries participate with athletes, including Olympic Games and IWF World Championships medallists.

Men 56kg was easily won by the clear favourite, 2010 YOG Gold medallist, 2014 Junior World Champion and bronze medallist of 2015 IWF World Championships, Thach Kim Tuan from VIE.

Enthusiastic crowd could even see him trying to break his own Snatch SEA Games Record at 130kg.

As a new initiative, every medallist receives a plant that will be settled around the stadium under his name – sustainability in action.
