IOC Session in Sochi opens with historical speech by IOC President Thomas Bach

Honorary Member of the IOC, Dr. Tamás Aján has reported from Sochi, Russia where he is attending the Session of the International Olympic Committee.

“The IOC President has undoubtedly introduced a new era in Olympic sports and in the history of the Games with his very interesting and impressive speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 126th IOC Session here in Sochi. I could not agree more with his words – ‘The Olympic Movement always stands for building bridges to bring people together, not for erecting walls to keep them apart.’, said the IWF President. “It has been my own life philosophy and guiding principle as well,” he added.

“The IOC President’s speech generated an interesting debate at the Session and I am sure that very soon there will be major changes in the Olympic Movement”, Dr. Aján concluded.
