Vasily Alexeev Memorial
Vasily Alexeev, double Olympic champion in Munich 1972 and in Montreal 1976, eight times World Champion passed away on 25 November 2011.
At a Ceremony held exactly two years after his death, a Memorial was inaugurated in Shakhty to commemorate the outstanding achievements of this legend of weightlifting and great figure of Russian sport.
As one of the initiators, Alexander Gerasimenko IWF Vice President participated in the inauguration of the tomb.
