2nd Asian Youth Games Nanjing
The 2nd Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, CHN started, with Weightlifting on the program for the first time being one of the 16 sports. These Games also serve as Test Event for 2014 YOG.
Altogether 132 athletes from 28 NOCs are competing in 4 Women and 5 Men bodyweight categories. The Gold Medal in the 48kg bodyweight category went to Jiang Huihua (CHN) ahead of Sukcharoen Thunya (THA) and Yao Lingling (CHN). Since this was the first Medal Ceremony on the 2nd Asian Youth Games across all sports, the medals were presented by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al- Sabah, President of Olympic Council of Asia, accompanied by Mr. Liu Peng, President of Chinese Olympic Committee.
