New positions of the AWF President
Mr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, President of Qatar Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (QWBF), Asian Weightlifting Federation President (AWF) was elected President of Arab Weightlifting Federation (AWF) by all 18 Arab nations whom participated in the Electoral Congress held at Holiday Villa Doha on Monday.
The West Asia Weightlifting Federation was also initiated, with the aim of working closely with the Federations in West Asian countries for higher participation and greater coordination in order to elevate the sport in West Asia.
The Asian Weightlifting Federation has also renewed dedicated efforts with full vigor on the Afro-Asian Council of Weightlifting Sports. At the Electoral Congress representatives from both Executive Boards of African and Asian Weightlifting Federations of 20 countries, have unanimously elected Mr. Al Mana as the new President of the Council.
The attendees elected Mr.Khaled Mohalhal, as Vice-President, Mr.Ali Moradi as Secretary General and Mr.Abdullah Al Garma as the Assistant Secretary General besides four members from both Africa and Asia.
The IWF appreciates and welcomes the initiatives of the Asian Weightlifting Community working for the benefits and development of weightlifting sport.
