50th Birthday of Yurik Sarkisyan
Olympic Silver Medallist in 1980, World and European Weightlifting Champion Yurik Sarkisyan celebrated his 50th birthday at the Continental restaurant in Yerevan on Sunday 14th August. During the party, Sarkisyan lifted a bar in front of the guests. His birthday cake also had the shape of a barbell. Olympic Gold Medallist and several times World Champion Yurik Vardanyan also attended the party.
Yurik Sarkisyan is a Member of the IWF Weightlifting Hall of Fame. He lives in Australia since 1994 and pays visits to his homeland Armenia regularly. He received a congratulatory message and a Certificate of Honor from Serzh Sargsyan, President of Armenia.
