    Mohamed Yousef Al Mana is the new AWF President

    The AWF Congress in Tashkent continued on 10 March 2011 with the elections.
    Mr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mana (QAT) was elected President of the Asian Weightlifting Federation by acclamation, after the withdrawal of all the other candidates. Ali Moradi (IRI) was elected General Secretary with 31 votes against Tom Liaw (SIN) and after the withdrawal of Niwat Limsuknirun (THA) and Mohammad Hasan Jaloud (IRQ).
