Weightlifting in Turkey: The Most Successful Federation in 2010!
The Turkish Weightlifting Federation, under the leadership of President Dr. Hasan Akkus, was officially proclaimed by the Turkish government and Sports Authority as the most successful in the year 2010. The THF activities included the successful organization of the Olympic Qualification World Championships in Antalya and the gold medals the country’s weightlifters achieved therein. The important recognition was confirmed by increased state support to the Federation’s activities.
Furthermore, Dr. Akkus has just reported that at the financial congress of the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, the 146 delegates, including Minister of Sport, etc. accepted and highly acknowledged his Federation’s financial and sports activities report.
