Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation Electoral Congress
The Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation Electoral Congress was held in Delhi, India during the last day of Competition on the 11th of October 2010. The Banquet Hall of the Ashok Hotel gave place to the meeting where besides the IWF President Dr. Tamás Aján the Commonwealth Games Federation’s two top officials Michael Fennell, President and Mike Hooper, CEO were also in attendance. During the Electoral Congress, Hon. Vinson Detenamo (NRU) was elected President by the attendees and Paul Coffa (AUS) as General Secretary unopposed.
The Congress also voted to elect 6 Vice Presidents who are Matthew Curtain (AUS), Shri Birendra Prasad Baishya (IND), Dato Ong Poh Eng (MAS), Garry Marshall (NZL), Steve Cannon (ENG) and Kevin du Plooy (RSA).
The elected Executive Board Members are Damianos Hadjidamianou (CYP), Hafiz Imran Butt (PAK), Ssenkunga Salim Musoke (UGA), James Ferguson (SCO), Tom Liaw (SIN) and Hester Montgomery (RSA).
