UAE launches its Women’s Team
United Arab Emirates Weightlifting Federation is now developing its Women’s Team. Since Women competition was introduced at the World Championships inthe Unites States in 1987, as the 1st among the Gulf States, UAE launched and competed with a Women Team.
During the World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya AL BALOOSHI Alia Ali (in the 53kg bodyweight category), AL BALOOSHI Ayesha and SALEH Muna Ahmed (both in the 58kg bodyweight category) represented UAE within Group C. The IWF wants to record this move as a welcome effort appreciating the girls’ contributions, who did their best in the competition.
Their Coach ELZAWAWI Nagwan (EGY) has great hope in her Team, and emphasized the importance of showing another facet of the country.
