On February 21-23, Yerevan State Olympic Reserve College was hosting Armenian Weightlifting Championship. In the highest categories gold went to Leva Gasharyan (weight category 94), Arthur Babayan (weight category 105) and Ruben Alexanyan (weight category +105). Samvel Khachatryan, President of Weightlifting Federation of Armenia told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that the weightlifters started to prepare to the European Weightlifting Championships. “Starting from March 1, the National team will begin their practice sessions in Tsaghkadzor. On March 15, they will leave for Minsk to participate in the European Championships to open on April 2,” Samvel Khachatryan said.
