Thai assurance for no disturbance to 1st EGAT Youth World Championships
Mrs. Boossaba Yodbangtoey, President of the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association and Executive Member of the Thai Olympic Committee assures the Weightlifting Family through the IWF that – despite the recent street protests – the organisation of the 1st EGAT Youth World Championships in ChiangMai will go ahead as planned, completely undisturbed.
The events would have had no impact whatsoever on the YWC and they are now finished anyway. In addition to that, ChiangMai is a very peaceful and secure place in Thailand and the TAWA and the Organising Committee are looking forward to hosting the young weightlifters to their first ever rendezvous for Olympic Qualification in their country, under excellent conditions and perfect security.
