IWF Symposium in Rome was a tremendous success

Two days – 2nd and 3rd March 2007 – crammed with lectures and presentations embracing a very wide range of topics, from coaching to IOC policies, constituted the intellectual summit of weightlifting. Organised at the highest level with perfect hospitality by the Italian Weightlifting Federation (FIPCF), the IWF Symposium took place in Ostia, suburb of Rome. In what was the 7th in the line of this kind of major IWF Symposia since 1981, subjects of both specific and general interest and an impressive lineup of lecturers attracted record participation. In the end, 152 participants were registered representing 58 countries.

The programme included most informative and inspiring presentations by guest speakers from the IOC, WADA and the international media and by members of the IWF Family. The Symposium was commonly judged as being extremely useful and well organised.

The speeches and presentations will be published by the IWF so that they can reach the broad audience of the IWF membership.
